Question: My company has been woefully understaffed for months now with no end in sight. We’ve been so busy that I have felt guilty about taking days off. Though I probably need one, I haven’t taken a vacation yet this year and don’t have anything planned for the rest of the year. My manager hasn’t taken one either. Should I take

Text description provided by the architects. After inspection of the 60`s container home, it was clear that an extension or repurposing of the building was economically not viable. We made the decision to reuse the existing foundations and their dimensions for a new building that could house the client’s whole family. Our goal was to keep proportions, form, and orientation in line with the surrounding buildings and still achieve a modern confident building that represents the regional construction methods. With that, the decision for a solid wood construction was clear, as it offered not only structural and thermal advantages but made for a very authentic and warm surface on the inside. Wall and ceiling elements were prefabricated with the necessary openings for installation, which required precise planning on

Mourning the end of summer vacation? Here are 6 ways to cope.

I start mourning a trip before it’s even over.

The stages of grief came in full force on Day 5 of a six-day bike trip through Maine, complete with bargaining to extend the trip; anger and depression when my boyfriend said we couldn’t; and finally acceptance, which hit a few miles from our final destination.

It’s not that I hate life at home, or that I’ll never travel again. It’s knowing that each trip is like a snowflake: unique and fleeting. You can plan a similar trip or go back to the same place, but you’ll never be able to capture its exact magic again.

Your guide to planning fall travel

As far as life’s struggles go, this one wallows at the bottom of the barrel — way, way below the actually painful stuff. But I’m not alone in feeling this way.

“We hear it from patients and our

Where Russians go on vacation since the Ukraine war started

There was a time when Western Europe was the destination of choice for Russian tourists.

But things have changed.

Max, a Russian in his 40s, used to stroll museums in France, enjoy fine cuisine in Italy, and go on hikes on the hills of Spain.

Then Russia invaded Ukraine. This year, Max, who told CNBC that he’s not comfortable sharing his last name, “did not even consider” Europe as a vacation destination.

“I am aware of the problems with obtaining visas to European countries,” he said.

Last week, the European Union agreed to suspend a 2007 travel agreement with Moscow which facilitated the issuance of visas to Russians. The move will make it more difficult and expensive for Russians to travel to the bloc.

In the future, when Putin leaves and we become a normal country again, I hope that I will be able to visit Europe again.

Woman Showing Up at Family’s Home Hoping for Free Vacation Slammed

An acquaintance who showed up at a couple’s house hoping for free vacation accommodation is being blasted online.

User Grumpusaurus shared her shock with Mumsnet’s Talk forum on September 2, after the woman—who she hasn’t seen or heard from in years—randomly appeared at her front door with a suitcase, despite the poster clearly telling her “no” months before.

Most Irritating House Guest Behaviors

In 2016, HomeAdvisor asked 2,000 Americans what house guest habits annoy them the most. Indefinite stays and going through a host’s personal belongings jointly topped the list, but showing up unannounced was a very close second.

Other common pet peeves included critiquing the host’s home, bringing an additional guest, making a mess, smoking, and not following house rules.

Why Rick Scott’s vacation plans sparked a new round of questions

The vast majority of the time, it’s best to ignore reporting on where politicians go on vacation. Everyone, including elected officials, deserve to take occasional breaks, and where they travel is between them and their families.

But once in a great while, there are exceptions. Axios published a report yesterday, for example, that raised a few eyebrows.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is spending part of his congressional recess on a luxury yacht in Italy with his family after criticizing President Biden for vacationing in Delaware, Axios has learned…. NRSC spokesman Chris Hartline did not respond to requests for comment on Monday night after Axios spoke with three sources familiar with aspects of Scott’s itinerary. Upon learning of Axios’ plans to publish, he said: “Sen. Scott took a couple days to celebrate his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife and family — a trip that was planned more than a year

Mom Based for Letting Friend With Kids Think She’s Joining Family Vacation

Longtime friendships are bound to have their ups and downs, but whether you and your pal go the distance usually depends on how you handle difficult situations.

Post to the AIBU (Am I Being Unreasonable?) forum on August 24, user holidaynightmare explained she’d planned the holiday as a 40th birthday treat for her husband.

The vacation is the first time the couple and their two children, aged 7 and 4, will have traveled overseas since the outbreak of COVID-19. However, when discussing the plans with her BFF, her friend assumed she was also invited.

Couple returns from vacation to find thieves have struck their home

A DeKalb County couple came home from vacation to find just about everything they owned was stolen or damaged.

Brandon and Mallory Blackley say while they were enjoying their time in Florida, thieves took over their home that they’ve been renting for the past couple of years.

When they walked in their home they found their furniture flipped over and damaged. Every cupboard and drawer in the kitchen had been rummaged through, and food and trash had been thrown around.

“Our whole entire life is in shambles,” said Brandon Blackley.

The couple says crooks forced their way into their home and swiped everything of value: a car, motorcycle, and dirt bike. They also took a vintage guitar and
